The Challenge
To create some “sticky” content for the EM Voices website.
EM Voices represent voice over artists all over Australia, New Zealand, London and the US.
“Sticky” content is used to encourage users to stick around on a website longer than they might otherwise, all the while building trust with your brand. Sticky content can come in the form of games, quizzes or interesting articles.
The Solution
We like using audio and video for our sticky content so we came up with the idea producing a short video to show some voice over artists in action.
We ended up with a parody of a classic television commercial.
The Process
The first stage was to develop a script. This can be the most time-consuming part of the process as we strive for creative ways to communicate our clients message to their audience. The message here was to encourage viewers to use the features of the website and explore the wealth of talent represented by EM Voices. During this process we wrote three drafts of a script. In close consultation with the client we decided on a parody of a classic television commercial that showcased the voice artists in action, highlighted the features of the website and planted our tongue firmly in our cheek.
Once the script was approved by all parties, we found a location, cast some voice over artists and composed some music specifically for the client. Using in-house producers, directors, composers, graphic animators and audio engineers along with award winning cinematographer Wayne Aistrope, we shot, edited and delivered the 1 minute 30 second video in an eight hour turn around.
The final video was delivered as a quicktime file under 5MB for use on the EM Voices website.
